The UK Housing Data Standards (UKHDS) were developed by HACT with the sector, for the sector, with aim to support the housing sector to improve its data and overcome current challenges. HACT worked with over 120 organisations in the housing sector to develop these standards to help housing providers manage information better, improve performance and meet regulatory requirements. They also aim to make processes more efficient and save costs, ultimately benefiting residents.
Lincolnshire Housing Partnership have been working with with HACT and Data Futurists to review a wide range of data impactive areas such as:
- (Core) Data Quality (aka. how accurate our data is)
- Data Governance including Documentation, Roles and Responsibilities and ‘Ownership’ (aka. who “owns” data and makes sure it is used correctly)
- Data Platforms (aka. where we store and access data)
- Business Process Mapping (aka. how we use data in our business decisions)
Their expertise shaped a clear set of next step recommendations to implement robust data practices to enhance efficiency and set clear accountability in LHP’s asset and repair management process.
Working through the UKHDS audit process, LHP have demonstrated that their data processes meet with robust standards designed specifically for the sector to be able to manage assets and repairs.
“Our certification for the UK Housing Data Standards is a big step in improving services and providing assurance to the Regulator against our Consumer Standard grading of C2, our Board and customers,” said Frank Manoharan, Corporate Head of IT & Digital Services at Lincolnshire Housing Partnership. “It reflects our commitment to improving data quality and leveraging data-driven solutions to deliver better outcomes for our communities and aligns perfectly with our strategic priorities.”
Matthew Grenier, Business Development Director at HACT, added: “We’re delighted to see LHP take the lead in achieving certification for the Assets and Repairs standard. This sets a benchmark for others in the sector and shows how data standards can transform operations and improve the resident experience.”
Overall, this certification highlights the importance of working with good data and having consistent data practices so it can be used effectively to improve services and drive cost savings for everyone.
