NED Network: Exploring the vital role of lettings standards: Flooring and tenant wellbeing

Letting standards are of critical importance for all social landlords.  As someone moves into their new home, they provide one of the first tangible impression of a landlord, and the quality of both service and home that can be expected. But with levels of homelessness and destitution rising, moving into to a new social home, also comes with considerable cost and challenge for many.  Flooring in particular, can be a major expense. Supported by the Longleigh Foundation, Altair have been undertaking research into this issue, hearing directly from tenants and landlords about the impact that flooring has on tenants wellbeing and sense of belonging. This session will share some of the initial findings and explore why lettings standards should be on every board’s agenda.
