Progress Housing Group's Chair takes on an African challenge in support of HACT

Janet Hale will be trading in her stiletto heels for a trusty pair of walking boots to scale Africa's highest peak.

Janet Hale, the new chair of Progress Group Housing, is set to scale the heights of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania next year to raise funds for HACT.

Janet is completing the challenge in March 2013 as part of ‘Sisters to the Summit’ - the first all female charity trek to the summit of the highest mountain in Africa. She will be taking on the challenge of the seven day trek to raise funds for two of HACT's projects: Self-Help Housing and Reach In. Janet is paying her own airfare and trip costs, so all sponsorship raised will go directly to these projects.

Janet is training hard for the trek: "It is going to be a real challenge for me as I have not done any regular form of exercise other than walking and yoga - and my favourite footwear is stilettos not walking boots! It was a spontaneous decision to take part, so I've had to take it seriously and have started training with more frequent and longer walks and going to the gym at least 5 days a week."

HACT wishes her the best of luck with her training and for the trek!
