Are you a contractor working within the housing sector supply chain?
HACT have produced a procurement toolkit to help housing associations and contractors effectively deliver social value.
This new toolkit includes practical guidance and provides an approach to generating, measuring and reporting social value across the supply chain.
Social Value & Procurement: A toolkit for housing providers and contractors (download link below)
Published: June 2016
Authors: Mary-Kathryn Rallings Adams, William Howard, Mark Roberts, Andrew van Doorn
This new toolkit is user-friendly and easy to navigate, with step by step guidance, detailed guidance on relevant legislation, and an extensive Tool Bank, containing examples, templates, checklists and resources that cover the life cycle of the procurement process.
HACT, with support from Trowers & Hamlins LLP and echelon Consultancy Ltd, has worked with Affinity Sutton, AkzoNobel, the Northern Housing Consortium, North Hertfordshire Homes, Mulalley, Riverside, Thrive Homes, United Living, Wandle and Wates to develop this toolkit, taking into account both client and contractor perspectives to help answer these questions.
Ways to get involved
Masterclasses offer an introduction to the toolkit, the methodology and how to implement both. More information about available sessions and their content can be found here.
Bespoke training provides the opportunity to have a session specifically tailored to your organisation’s needs and help you adopt and integrate the methodology smoothly. If you are interested in bespoke training, contact David King, Social Impact Adviser at HACT.
Licenses allow you to use the values found in HACT’s Social Value Bank in reporting and tenders, to demonstrate the good work you do and the social value you create. Further information can be found here.
‘In practice’ sessions will be run by HACT, co-delivered by one of the organisations that have already adopted the approach. Come along for an opportunity to see how these organisations are practically adopting it in their business. Please get in touch with William Howard for more information.
