New resources on HACT Self-Help Housing webpages

08/01/2014

A brand new information resource hub for organisations in receipt of funding from the Empty Homes Community Grants Programme.

HACT has been working in partnership with self-help-housing.org to deliver a capacity building programme that aims to advise and support community groups both applying for and in receipt of funding through the DCLG-funded Empty Homes Programme, which helps to ensure that these vital groups have the resources needed to bring many empty or disused properties in their local area back into use.

We have now updated and expanded our Self-help Housing Resource Section on the HACT website. This now includes new information about raising loan finance, grant allocations, selected case studies and inspirational videos from community groups we have worked with around the country.  The sections will be added to as new information or sources become available.

We are also incredibly pleased to announce that our colleague from Self-help-housing.org, Jon Fitzmaurice, has received an OBE in the 2014 Honours list! His dedicated contribution to the community housing sector through Self-help Housing has made a remarkable difference to the communities and individuals he has worked with. An honour well deserved!
